If there is one thing you need to know about me, it's that I'm a foodie. I love trying new restaurants and exploring what cuisine this city has to offer. I am definitely your basic white girl and that one of my favorite meals is brunch. I enjoy a good brunch outing where you know I'll be taking some artsy photos of my food. So for my birthday brunch, I decided to venture from my basic Sarabeths or Jacks Wife Frieda and try a new place called Bubby's.
This poppin brunch spot is located in the heart of Tribeca. As soon as we got there we were greeted by an amazing aroma of deliciousness and the friendliest host I've ever met in NYC. It was going to be a bit of a wait to get in but they had hot spicy cider to tide us over. As we waited for a table on the adorable lime green rocking chairs we got to know a friendly couple from the neighborhood. The buzzer went off and we were seated at a cozy table in the corner.
As we sat down I took a look at the menu and was pleased with all the yummy choices. Chris was ecstatic when he found out they were having a french toast special. To start I got the hot cocoa and we got biscuits for the table share. The biscuits came and were immediately gobbled up. They had a spread of delicious jams and butter to accompany the flaky biscuits. The hot chocolate was amazing. It had homemade marshmallows and thick creamy chocolate. It coated the inside of your mouth with deliciousness. To our surprise Chris got the french toast of course and I went with the classic breakfast of eggs, pancakes, and bacon. My favorite part had to be the bacon, it was thick cut juicy goodness. I couldn't have made a better choice, I enjoyed every part of my meal. Chris's french toast looked pretty good as well.
My overall experience at Bubby's was great. Every moment was enjoyable from getting a table to paying the check. I'll definitely be back for another brunch outing.
Next on the blog look out for a post about my experience working on the musical Boys from Syracuse. Then a post about my favorite hot cocoa in the city.
